Our 2019-2020 Team
We are a group of high school and junior high school students in Fremont. We formed this team in Spring 2016, while we were in our last year of junior high. We decided to form this team because we saw the value of FTC for each and every one of us. We started with not much experience, but we have learned so much in just our rookie year! By joining FTC, we learned so many new skills such as programming, and CAD design, and there’s so much more to learn!
Avikam founded Innov8rz in Spring of 2016. He is a high-school senior with over 6 years of experience in software development in many languages, such as Python, Java, and Swift. He has developed many applications, from multi-platform desktop applications to native applications for the iOS platform. Many of his apps are already in the Apple App Store and have been downloaded and used by thousands. Avikam enjoys taking rigorous courses in the math and science fields, especially Calculus and Physics. With extensive hands-on experience in software development, CAD design, web design, sensors and electronics, he is ready to take on any challenge! Avikam knows how to have fun outdoors and indoors and loves to swim, ski, play the clarinet, and play video games!
Mathew JosephMentor, Software Division
Mathew is a senior at Irvington High School who is proud to be part of Innov8rz. He was a FIRST Tech Challenge Dean’s List Finalist for 2018-2019. He is passionate about coding and learning. He loves to share his robotics knowledge with underrepresented students and inspires them to pursue robotics. Mathew has participated in Parliamentary Debate, Track and Field, and Cross Country. He is an Eagle Scout and has learned valuable leadership qualities from his Scouts experience. He loves to all sorts of outdoor adventures – backpacking, hiking, canoeing, skiing, scuba diving, sailing, swimming, and much more. He enjoys cooking, especially making desserts. He loves to play with two little sisters and baby brother.
Arshad MohammadMentor, CAD Division
Arshad is a senior who loves photography, reading, music, and, of course, coding. She’s had a growing passion for not only coding but also all types of digital creations. She has more than two years of experience in Java, Python, and HTML and CSS. Other than robotics she is involved in teaching STEM to underrepresented elementary schools, gymnastics, and is currently learning her fourth language! She hopes to learn and face new challenges through FTC and eventually use her skills to help her community one day.
Mihir ChauhanHead of Software Division
Vikram MuruganHead of Build Division
Anushka VardeHead of CAD Division
Anushka is an 8th grader who lives in Fremont. She has enjoyed learning about robotics through FIRST Lego League (FLL) for two years now. In this year’s 2017-2018 Hydrodynamics FLL challenge, her team had a successful season, qualifying for the regionals and Global Innovation Summit. Anushka’s interest in designing things comes from her love for art. She is a newbie to CAD and enjoys learning about it. She likes reading, gymnastics, and playing with her younger sister.
Kelly Ziqi JiaMember, Software Division
Kelly is a 7th grader in Horner Junior High, who loves to read, practice gymnastics, code, and is also a huge fan of the Avengers. She competed in FLL for one year, and now is proud to become part of the Innov8rz! She’s part of the Xcel gymnastics team and has competed in the State Championship. She was part of the Warm Springs Elementary Student Council and helped in organizing many activities. During the 6th grade promotion, she won the classroom’s Highest Academic Achievement Award and the school’s Principal’s Award for service and leadership. Kelly is also passionate about learning Java. In her free time, she likes to ride her bike and watch movies with family and friends.
Rohit MamidipakaMember, Software Division
Shanyu ChauhanMember, Build Division
Shanyu is a student who is currently attending Horner Junior High. He is one of the newer additions to Innov8rz. Shanyu is a part of the building team. Shanyu studied up until fifth grade in London and then he moved to the United States almost three years ago. Shanyu is eager to learn new things and gain new experiences as part of Innov8rz. FTC, and Innov8rz, are Shanyu’s first interaction with robotics and he is excited to be here. Shanyu hopes that Innov8rz will help him open up and explore new paths.
Lohith MaddaliMember, Build Division
Lohith is becoming an 8th grader next year. Last year, he was part of an FLL team during the “Into Orbit Challenge”(2018-2019 season). He worked on building attachments and programming the robot for his FLL team “Robotic Rockets”. The team was able to qualify for regional’s. He has shown interest in building at a young age. He loves to play sports such as basketball and baseball and finally loves to play video games.
Rosemary JosephMember, CAD Division
